Common questions

How do you say thank you in Indonesian?

Thank you in Indonesian is "Terima kasih" (te-ree-ma ka-see). You can add "banyak" (a lot) for "thank you very much". It is warmly received all over Bali.

What language do they speak in Bali?

Bali speaks its own local Balinese, but almost everyone also understands and speaks Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), the official language of the country. This phrasebook is in Indonesian, because it is understood across the island and is the handy one for a traveller.
